Built in 1912 as the Grotto Country Club, The Freshwater Inn is set in lovely
gardens and enjoys spectacular views along the South Pembrokeshire Heritage
Coast. Since 2003, the inn has been owned and run by Richard and Carol Ashley,
a really friendly and welcoming couple. Devotees of real ales will be happy
here - at any one time there are 4 of them on tap with Double Dragon and
Cambrian as the regulars, plus two rotating guest ales. Over the course of one
year, Richard hopes to have offered his customers some 30 different real ales.
Lovers of good food will also be content: fish and steak dishes are especially
popular, but there's also a wide selection of other dishes, all based on locally
sourced ingredients. Choose from either the regular menu or from the specials
board, and there's also a menu for children. Food is served every lunchtime
(from noon until 2pm), and evening (7pm to 9pm), and during the summer holidays
is available throughout the day. Booking is essential at weekends and during
the summer season. All major credit cards apart from Diners are accepted; and
there's ample off road parking.
